The MSc in Mechanical Engineering is aimed at training engineers capable of elaborating the concept of machines, mechanical equipment and processes, modelling them, then planning, operating and maintaining them; developing machine industry technologies, new materials, production technologies.

The programme trains highly qualified IT engineers with strong foundations in natural sciences and engineering. Graduates can design, develop, and integrate complex IT systems, participate in research and development, and work effectively in project teams. The curriculum also provides solid theoretical knowledge for continuing studies at PhD level.

The Master of Science (M.Sc.) programs offered at The Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) are not restricted to those who received their B.Sc. diplomas in engineering at BME. These programs are open to all students who receive diplomas in mechanical engineering, mechatronics engineering or transportation engineering at any of the Hungarian or foreign institutions of higher education.

The program in MSc in Structural Engineering is based on the Faculty’s research of structural science and aims to provide practical and theoretical training in structural engineering. The course content focuses on developing experimental technique skills and computer usage and reflects current trends in structural analysis and design. The training covers research methods for engineers, construction project management, numerical methods, etc. Optional modules are also offered in the field of structural engineering, such as the design in steel and concrete, structures and geo-technics, and geotechnical engineering.

MSc in Biomedical Engineering is an emerging field that involves applying physical, chemical, mathematical, computer science and engineering principles to the analysis of biological, medical, behavioral and health-related problems. Biomedical engineers develop innovative devices and procedures to help prevent, diagnose and treat diseases. It relies on an in-depth understanding of science and engineering fundamentals, combined with a broad knowledge of physiological and anatomical systems.

This program in MSc in Architectural Engineering trains students to apply their complex knowledge in the areas of architecture and urban planning, as well as in the multi-faceted field of environment formation in general (architectural design, town and country planning, preservation of built heritage, structural design, construction work, management, and administration tasks, consulting with authorities, teaching, etc.) In addition, students are prepared for their professional planning license once they have gained the prerequisite practical experience as required by the relevant regulations. The final complex design project and the diploma design project are a summary, a synthesis of their studies, and serve as a final assessment of their acquired knowledge.

The programme is based on the Faculty’s research of structural science and aims to provide practical and theoretical training in structural engineering. 

This program aims to train environmental engineers with up-to-date knowledge in natural sciences, earth sciences, engineering, economics, and management. There are two specializations for the program: remediation and environmental geotechnics, and waste management.

The aim of this programme is to train environmental engineers with up-to-date knowledge in natural sciences, earth sciences and engineering, economics and management. One specialisation focuses on identifying and evaluating potential environmental hazards, preventing or reducing their impact and managing damage control projects.

The aim of the Industrial System Engineering (ISE) MSc program is to train engineers who are capable of designing, operating, managing and developing complex industrial production systems, including human, machine, automated equipments, Artificial Intelligent agents, etc., in accordance with the principles of Industry 5.0: human-centricity, sustainability, resilience.
