VST’s Master of Divinity program is accepted for ordination by the Anglican, United and Presbyterian denominations in Canada and by the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America.

The MDiv builds on the BDiv Program or the previously four year BTh Program. It is a coursework master’s degree Program in general theology covering all six theological disciplines. It aims to offer advanced theological knowledge and practical skills that will meet the needs of the ministry of the Word.

The Master of Arts in Theological Studies degree program is for those wishing to develop further perspectives in theological thought for personal or professional enrichment, for those interested in further academic study, or for those seeking further development in their spiritual journey in relation to other professions.

The Master of Theology degree is a post-graduate degree. This means an applicant is required to have already completed a master's degree in theological studies to be eligible to apply. The ThM (an advanced master's degree) is designed to provide the student with an advanced understanding of one area or discipline within the general context of the theological study, and the development of research methods and resources appropriate to the area or discipline chosen.

The Master of Divinity is a professional degree designed for those who intend to work in the ministry. It consists of 72 credits, with courses in theology, Biblical Interpretation, Biblical Languages, Ministry Formation, Intercultural Studies, Leadership, and Counseling. The M.Div. the degree builds on PacRim’s M.A. in Christian Ministry program, which consists of 36 credits. Individuals who have completed the M.A. can apply all 36 credits toward the 72 credits required for completion of the Master of Divinity.
