This part-time 2-year innovative Joint Degree Master Choreography is run jointly by Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam and Fontys Academy of the Arts in Tilburg. The program is designed to support experienced movement makers from a variety of fields while they carry out research into questions initiated from their current practice.

The Master’s Programme in Choreology at HAMU is a two-year, full-time course taught in English, designed for graduates who wish to deepen their expertise in dance history, theory, and methodology. The programme provides advanced academic training in choreology, combining theoretical study, methodological practice, and research-driven approaches.

As an emerging or experienced choreographer, this MFA course will help you refine your artistic practice by advancing your creative, technical and performance skills. The programme includes technique classes, choreography workshops, laboratory sessions, dialogue, writing and reflection. You will be encouraged to experiment and take risks in a series of self-directed choreographic projects that help you develop a portfolio of work.

During MA Dance: Choreography and Professional Practices you’ll study producing for small/mid-scale touring ensuring you have all the tools you need to realise your creative projects and grow new audiences for your work. Industry collaboration and real-world learning are central to this course, so you’ll take part in workshops, participate in work-based learning and observe professional commissions, providing you with invaluable experience and networking opportunities. You’ll study in our £55 million New Adelphi building, home to multiple rehearsal studios and a theatre.
