The Master of Science (MSc) is a two-year degree which encompasses both coursework and research. The first year involves mainly coursework and preliminary research preparation. Students will have the opportunity to contribute to existing fields of research, or to begin to develop new areas.

The Master of Science by Coursework and Thesis - MSc will take you between two and two and half years of full-time study or up to four years part-time. MSc in Chemistry can be joined at the Faculty of Science of the University of Pécs. The courses are open from September, each year, and are continued during a 4-semester cycle. The education is followed in English. The students who have studied chemistry, biochemistry, physics, and pharmacy at the undergraduate level (BSc) will complete their knowledge at the Master of Science level. The Master of Science (MSc) CPCM "Chemistry and Physico-Chemistry of Materials" provides a complete education program in the field of materials, by addressing all aspects related to their synthesis/elaboration, their fine characterization, and their implementation for specific applications. In the title of this master's program, the term "Chemistry" refers to synthesis and elaboration aspects, while the term "Physico-Chemistry" refers to characterization science and understanding of mechanisms and phenomena taking place at different scales of the material (micro/nano or surface/bulk). The training delivered by Master CPCM allows you to find rapidly a job in the industry as a senior executive, in all sectors of activity using or designing materials, as soon as you have obtained the Master's degree. Alternatively, you can continue your training with a Ph.D. thesis (three years), which is an advantage in several fields of research and development.

The Master´s programme in Chemistry deepens your knowledge of proteins' function in the body, chemicals’ effect in the environment, and of the development of new pharmaceuticals. The Erasmus Mundus Master of Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modelling (TCCM) is a joint initiative of seven European universities, including KU Leuven and coordinated by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, that trains students to master a wide range of theoretical and computational tools on the forefront of research in molecular science.

The Master's Degree Programme in Chemistry and Analytics for Circular Economy is a two-year (120 ECTS) full-time programme given in English. It is provided by the Faculty of Mathematics and Science. CACE combines the basics of circular economy as well as the recovery and upcycling of both metals and bio-based materials in its course curriculum, with a strong focus on analytical chemistry. Major subject is chemistry with a minimum of 75 ECTS, and you can choose optional studies for example from business, leadership, marketing, statistics, planetary wellbeing, information seeking, career planning, communications and language studies to fulfill 120 ECTS. Teaching includes practical hands-on training with instrumental analysis. Applications for this master's degree programme can be submitted once a year in January, and if you are accepted, your studies will begin in August. From this programme you will graduate with a Master of Science degree.
