In the Master’s Programme in Agricultural Sciences (AGRI), you can pursue studies in plant production sciences, animal science, agrotechnology, or environmental soil science, depending on your interests and previous studies. The University of Helsinki is the only university in Finland to offer academic education in this field.

The Master of Science in Agricultural and Biological Engineering equips students with the skills to solve problems in agricultural, food, utilization, environmental control and biological systems. This program offers flexibility through several areas of study, allowing students to tailor their education to their unique interests. Regardless of the chosen area of study, all students will experience interdisciplinary coursework combining mathematics; computer science; statistics; engineering mechanics; chemical, civil, electrical and mechanical engineering; animal, crop and food sciences and other relevant domains.

The MSc Agricultural Extension and Innovation is a one-year full-time or two-year part-time programme based in UCD and is focused on meeting the needs of those who are interested in developing careers in advisory, consultancy or education services in the public, private or non-governmental sector. This MSc will equip graduates with the skills and knowledge to understand more about the processes of learning that underpin change and development and to be effective in building the capacity of farmers to adopt new practices and technologies.

The postgraduate program in Agricultural Engineering trains engineers operating in the agro-industrial sector who possess a system vision, i.e. an approach to the study and the implementation of application solutions based on an overall vision of the technological aspects of the agro-industrial chain. The objective is to prepare culturally and professionally highly qualified technicians able to implement the available technologies to ensure the sustainability, safety, and traceability of agro-industrial productions, to design and integrate automation, to monitor agricultural robotics systems, to use Big Data analysis and Artificial Intelligence. By using these tools, the Agricultural Engineer aims at improving yields and control over safety requirements, designing intelligent irrigation systems, at reaching the optimal economic management of farms and of the connected supply chain.

The Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences is a diverse faculty with 13 departments that is supported by more than 20 centres and institutes. More than 5 000 students register in this faculty annually of which 70% are undergraduate and 30% postgraduate students.

The Master Agricultural Production Chain Management is tailored for mid-career professionals in horticulture, livestock, and agroforestry. Master Program of Forestry Science (MPFS) was established in 1993. The Forestry Faculty of Universitas Gadjah Mada administers a postgraduate level program to generate professional human resources in the field of Forest Science at the Masters Level (MSc).
