The goal of the Master of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (MAOM) program is to train you to become a licensed acupuncturist.

The goal of the Master of Acupuncture with a Chinese Herbal Medicine Specialization (MAc) is to train individuals to become a licensed acupuncturist. Students who complete the prescribed course of study at the American College of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) will be awarded a Master of Acupuncture with a Chinese Herbal Medicine Specialization (MAc) degree upon completion of its requirements.

The Master of Acupuncture program is almost identical to the Oriental Medicine program but does not include herbal studies. This program includes 2,678 clock hours of instruction and may be completed in two and two-thirds calendar years (eight consecutive trimesters). This program must be completed within six years from the date of matriculation.

The Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ICOM) has created a comprehensive professional degree program that leads to a Master of Acupuncture (MAc) with a Specialization in Chinese Herbal Medicine Degree Program.

The Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MSAOM) provides the didactic and clinical training necessary for eligibility to sit for the national board exam to become a licensed acupuncturist.
