The Master of Science in Marine Ecosystem and Fisheries Sciences is set up as a consecutive and research-oriented degree program. Marine Maintenance Technology (MT) prepares students for employment in the marine trades with a focus on two major disciplines: marine mechanics and marine electrical systems. New technological demands with regard to ship safety, navigation, risk management and energy efficiency mean new requirements for increasingly skilled and technically knowledgeable professionals to understand and carry out these demands. This course develops a detailed understanding of ship technology and the role it plays in shipping.

The Certificate in Marine Surveying Fundamentals aims to expand the knowledge of existing and potential marine surveyors in the marine survey industry. Over 12 weeks and 6 modules, this distance learning programme will explore the human element of conducting opening meetings, dealing with obstructive and difficult clients/officers/crew, the safety of surveyors, the extent of authority and professional conduct.

The Diploma in Harbour Masters provides the underpinning knowledge to enable the present and future harbour masters, and their staff, to meet the key role in managing the marine safety functions of a port or harbour. As the first professional development course for Harbour Masters (and their staff), this thorough 12-month programme aims to provide the knowledge needed for the role in support of “on-the-job” training.

The Marine Technology curriculum is designed to provide the practical skills and academic background essential for success in the area of marine scientific support.

The study program Marine Engineering and Technology Maritime Transport, at the undergraduate level, is intended for officers acquiring certification for chief engineer and second engineer officer, at the management level on a ship powered by the main propulsion machinery of over 3000 kW.
