International Relations and Public Diplomacy (IR-PUB) is a Double Degree Program conducted jointly by the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and the University of Siena. It is implemented within the framework and with the financial support of the Katamaran program of the National Agency for Academic Exchange (from the Knowledge-Education-Development Operational Program: POWER). In line with the double-degree concept, students will complete a study program for two semesters at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and two semesters at the University of Siena in Italy, which has complementary competencies in public and cultural diplomacy.

This joint Master’s degree program in international relations is carried out within the framework of the VNDREAM network, which consists of Jagiellonian University in Kraków (Poland), University of West Bohemia (Czech Republic), University of Pecs (Hungary) and Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica (Slovakia). Graduate studies in National Security are a field of study that allows preparing human resources at various levels of administration and state services to implement tasks related to state security. Education includes knowledge in the legal basis of security, security policy, crisis management, logistics in crises, and international political and military relations.

Education in the field of internal security is interdisciplinary. Students gain general knowledge of law and administration, organization and management, psychology, sociology, etc., in conjunction with specialist, practical knowledge about threats to state security, health, life and property of citizens, information security, crisis management and maintenance of public order.

The educational program for the field of state defense studies with a practical profile is the result of consultations between the academic community and representatives of the economy, local administration, as well as institutions and organizations dealing with state defense and security.
