The MA Psychotherapy & Counselling will give you a broad knowledge of psychotherapy and the work of key historical and contemporary figures.

The MA in Psychotherapy offers a postgraduate qualification which meets requirements for professional training for individuals interested in training as humanistic and psychodynamic psychotherapists in the integrative model. The course has been designed for graduates from a Level 8 Counselling and Psychotherapy programme who are suitable for supervised clinical training in humanistic and psychodynamic psychotherapy in accordance with the integrative model.

The MA in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy is a recognised component which contributes to a post-graduate specific modality training in psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. A combination of this Masters’ programme with the Post-Masters’ Specific Modality Training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in The School of Psychotherapy at St Vincent’s University Hospital meets the minimum 4-year postgraduate training requirement to enable graduates to apply with confidence for accredited membership of a professional body in the field.

Our MA Couple Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy provides you with significant theoretical knowledge needed to become a psychoanalytic psychotherapist with a specialist focus on working with couples. The course is offered in collaboration with Tavistock Relationships, a leading training and research centre in therapeutic and psycho-educational approaches to supporting couples.
