In particular, students will develop skills in the analysis of film and media arts and apply these skills in the production of creative projects, and critical work. The one-year MA Film Producing program prepares students for roles like producer or production manager, focusing on script development, budgeting, and project management. Based in Covent Garden, it combines creative, business, and legal skills, addressing industry needs like diversity, sustainability, and viable proposals.

The Performing Arts Study programme aims to develop highly qualified creative artists, and music performers (instrumentalists, singers, soloists, musicians of diverse ensembles, and orchestra conductors), who will have an impact upon the musical (cultural) tradition not only through their creative works and other artistic means, professionally performing works solo and in ensembles and orchestras of various compositions, but also by analyzing, commenting on, personally developing individual creative activities, searching for the most influential artistic work interpretations, fostering historical traditions of the music art and influencing the musical development processes.

This Master's programme offers two specializations: one in Popular Music, Sound and Media Cultures and another in Theatre, Culture and Media studies. Each specialization encompasses both emergent and historically established practices in music and theatre and the performing arts.

The MA by thesis

The Master of Arts (MA) in Fashion Film and Photography is a one-year program in Photography with a specific focus on fashion, aimed at emerging photographers interested in specializing in fashion. The professional practice of fashion photographers today increasingly includes film, so the moving images will be taught alongside still.

The MA in Sound Design provides students with focused studio training in sound design, digital audio workstations, and industry standard practices in creating sonic worlds for visual media. Emphasis is placed on creative sound design techniques, and editorial practices in layering sounds in synchronization with visual media.

The Master of Arts (Coursework) program is designed to give students the skills sought-after by employers around the globe, with a balance of specific subject knowledge plus broad-based transferable skills – such as oral and written communication, and analytical skills.

The film is a world made up of many different languages, each one born out of the necessity to communicate a vision. Using experimentation and research one can give life to new stories and in order to tell them, RUFA has created the two-year Master of Arts Degree Program in Film Arts, born to bring together, in a single program, the talent and storytelling capacity, writing, and vision of students who have completed a degree in the Arts or Design.

The programme in MA Film offers a thorough grounding in postgraduate-level film. We are happy to consider applications from applicants with a background in either film or a related humanities subject.
