The master program focusses on the development of software development competences – for industry-oriented practitioners and industrial researchers, focusing on skills for working in novel or emerging paradigms with state-of-the-art technologies, and, respectively, scientific research competencies – for those aiming to pursue a doctoral degree or a research-oriented career in either academy or industry, emphasis is placed on how to organize a scientific research effort, covering methodologies, literature analysis and dissemination guidance on the topics addressed by the program.

The MA program “Human Geography: Globalisation, Media, and Culture” offers a critical human geographic perspective on an entangled globalized world as well as a thorough engagement with current debates relating to globalization, (digital) media, and culture. In our seminars, we combine theoretical debates and empirical research practice and insights into a range of different research methods, techniques and practical skills e. g. the production of short films, podcasts or blogs. Our institute provides you with an exciting teaching and research environment complemented by international visiting scholars and experts. Within your studies, you have the chance to design and carry out your own empirical research project during an on-site workshop. The program focuses on logic and its applications in the philosophy of science, particularly in the foundations of mathematics, physics, linguistics, and the social sciences. Students will be empowered to think geographically, to develop their critical thinking skills, undertake independent research in an area of specialist interest, and significantly enhance their professional skills. 

The Master of Arts (MA) degree normally requires at least one year of full-time study and entails completion of a thesis. The thesis is a major piece of supervised research on a topic of current interest.

This established MA course equips you with the skills to assess the ethical, legal, social and spiritual aspects of advances in medicine and related technologies. At St Mary's our multidisciplinary team of ethics experts with backgrounds in law, medicine, philosophy and theology ensure that every student has a chance to gain a thorough understanding of the grounding of ethical principles and their application.

The program in MA in Interior and Spatial design trains interior design artists to implement aesthetic, functional, and psychological aspects of a given space or space. Graduates will possess essential technical knowledge, and artistic skills, and have an understanding and thorough knowledge of the design thought process and their importance during the planning procedure. They also acquire primary manufacturing-, production processes, and their conditions. Students gain both practical and professional experiences throughout the course of their studies and are prepared to pursue their education in the doctoral program if they wish.
