The two-year program, housed in the Department of English Literature and Linguistics at Bar-Ilan University, offers an MA in English Literature with specializations in Literary Fiction, Poetry or Creative Nonfiction.

The MA in Translation and Interpreting (MATI) is a uniquely specialised variant of our Professional Translation course, with an emphasis on interpreting skills. It develops you from an excellent foreign language speaker into a successful professional linguist.

MA in English - Creative Writing you have a commitment to imaginative writing, if you would like to develop your artistic practice, build your professional skills as an author and engage with the vibrant creative community of the Seamus Heaney Centre, then the MA in English (Creative Writing) is for you. The programme includes prose writing (fiction and creative non-fiction) and script writing (screen and stage), and invites you to explore all these modes of writing before choosing a specialism

The MA in French Culture is designed for student who have already mastered the French language and wish to take their experience and knowledge one step further. Introductory and advanced courses will cover the linguistic and cultural aspects.

The Translation and Interpreting with Professional Experience MA is a unique two-year course that offers you the opportunity to complete an extended work placement and gain professional experience. Partnered with the Translation and Interpreting MA, you’ll complete the same taught modules as the one-year course with the addition of completing a minimum of 550 hours in a work placement or internship.

The MA in English Philology will refine your language command to the highest level—including marketing, business, and public communication—and select one of two study paths: Translation or Language Education, gaining practical professional skills in your chosen path.

Exploring a variety of different visual, textual and popular forms of culture, the course will particularly appeal to those with wide-ranging interests in the arts and humanities, as well as those interested in cutting-edge theoretical debates. We also draw upon a long tradition of practical engagement with the applied arts and culture. Our location in the cultural heart of London offers a unique educational experience, and as one of the most internationally diverse universities in the UK, you’ll also be studying alongside students from a wide range of different cultural backgrounds.
