Developed in partnership with the Institute for Journalism and Social Change, the MA Global Journalism - and its suite of postgraduate pathways - address the emergent challenges and opportunities for journalism in a global and digital news paradigm.

Emerson College’s online MA in Journalism and Media Innovation immerses you in all facets of modern journalism and media. The MA in International Journalism provides a dynamic and robust approach to teaching contemporary journalism through the lens of globalisation and digitalisation.

Master of Arts Journalism & Public Affairs. The AU School of Communication MA in Journalism and Public Affairs prepares you for a career as a news and information professional. You'll focus your program studies in one of three areas: Investigative Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, or International Journalism.

MA Journalism, Media and Communications will help you to develop an in-depth understanding of how media work across a variety of social, cultural, economic and political contexts. It focuses on the academic study of journalism but also offers opportunities for the development of professional skills through optional modules in the second semester and through research.

This pathway on the MA Global Journalism prepares students to tell high impact world-changing stories using data. It is delivered in partnership with the Institute for Journalism and Social Change, led by Claire Provost (former data journalist for the Guardian and head of global investigations for Open Democracy).

DCU’s MSc in Journalism offers expert-led training in political, climate, and data journalism, plus hands-on skills in video, audio, and MoJo production. Accredited by the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) for over a decade, this course will equip you for a career in journalism. Kingston combines professional training and academic study with the skills you will need to succeed in this intensely competitive industry.

The MA in Journalism offers a unique combination of practical skills and academic reflection with the aim to develop a multimedia mindset. We provide hands-on training in small groups, in state-of-the-art newsroom facilities. Students have access to professional resources for their news productions, such as an exclusive newsroom with an instruction area, powerful workstations, radio and television studio, edit rooms, and recording equipment. The program has an excellent relationship with employers and internship providers. The department is proud of its longstanding collaboration with Dutch public broadcaster NOS in both education and academic research and has affiliated with universities in Sheffield and Cardiff (UK).

A dissertation on a theme from Journalism that provides evidence of the critical sense and research capability of the candidate is required. A research article that is suitable for publication is also required.

The Erasmus Mundus Master’s in Journalism, Media and Globalisation offers a unique 360° educational experience. Students on the programme study and live in at least two European countries, interact with classmates from all around the world and engage in lively and insightful discussions in a thriving interdisciplinary and intercultural environment.

The M.A. Digital Journalism includes the classic media: print, online, and audiovisual, which are increasingly converging in the world of media. The target group is graduates in humanities with linguistic competencies who would like to major in one of these two areas: business/politics or culture/entertainment.

The Master of Arts Program in Fashion Journalism equips students with subject-area expertise to help communicate the rising complexity of the global fashion industry. M.A. students develop both: a deep understanding of social media for journalism and a strong fashion industry grounding that enables them to ask more informed questions, to situate fashion news and business of fashion events into a larger context, and to evaluate fashion collections with a critical, well-informed eye. Students learn to produce cross-platform stories that are nuanced and sophisticated for social, digital, mobile and print media. The M.A. program is fueled by a deep intellectual understanding of fashion, ethics, and the ability to professionally utilize social media - skills that are required of the leading fashion journalists of tomorrow.
