The M.A. in School Counseling program prepares school counselors to maximize the potential of all students through comprehensive developmental school counseling programs and develops skills as competent school counselors and effective consultants, collaborators, advocates, and leaders in an ever-changing global society.

BU’s Master of Arts in Psychology provides the flexibility to pursue a variety of areas in psychology, building on a common foundation of scientific methodologies. Our students are exposed to different aspects of the field through completion of coursework and developing an independent project with a faculty member. Particular strengths of the program include cognition, neuroscience, developmental science, and clinical psychology. This program is ideal for students who wish to strengthen their understanding of research methodology and clarify their interest in the field in preparation for employment or advanced graduate training.

The MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program (CMHC) offered at the Lindenwood St. Louis (St. Charles) campus provides students with a broad base of psychological knowledge and theory integrated with extensive training and practice in the use of counseling skills.

This program is based on an integrated curriculum intended to produce clinicians trained in theory, research, and clinical skills. Students accepted into the Master of Arts program can elect to specialize in mental health counseling or mental health counseling with a forensic psychology concentration.

The Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) program provides comprehensive insight into communication disorders and their consequences for individuals and society. The Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is a graduate-level residential program designed to meet the Virginia requirements for licensure as a Professional Counselor. The faculty provides quality professional training of clinical mental health counselors from a faith-based perspective.

The Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology program attempts to answer these questions using psychological concepts as utilized in the legal system. Students learn to examine mental health through multiple perspectives: social, cultural, and legal.

Our two-year, 33-unit MA in Urban and Public Affairs offers a range of graduate seminars on urban studies, politics, and public policy. A 200-hour internship is required, as well as a Capstone Project that synthesizes your research and internship experience on a policy area of your choice.

Our program provides students with a solid academic background by giving them an opportunity to complete advanced coursework and further develop their research skills by working closely with a faculty mentor on a research project or thesis. A wide variety of practicum sites are available for students to learn about direct service provision to clients, employees, and patients. The MA Psychology program is designed for students who want to strengthen their academic record in preparation for applying to doctoral programs. Others choose to begin careers in industry, mental health, community agency and education settings.
