The MA Cultural Studies program aims to offer grounding in the theories on Cultural Studies which draw on Marxism, Structuralism, Post-Structuralism, Post-Marxism, Feminism, and Post-Modernism and their use, application, and adaption in the cross-cultural contexts of Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

Within the Institute of History, the Department for Interdisciplinary History has been providing education in the field of cultural heritage since 2012, initially as a specialization of the History MA program, and from 2016 in the form of an independent Hungarian master's degree program. Since 2018, the Department has been coordinating a bilingual (English and French) Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree program on cultural heritage (TEMA+ European Territories. Heritage and Development), in association with four partner universities (Charles University, Prague; École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Paris; University of Catania; Université Laval, Québec) and in cooperation with European Heritage Label (EHL) and various UNESCO organs. The English-language Cultural Heritage Studies MA program is based on the domestic and international experiences of the department. The program includes two specializations: 1) Theory of Cultural Heritage, 2) Museum and Curatorial Studies. The program provides internships for students in several institutions involved in heritage protection and management.

The Cultural and Critical Studies MA is part of the Cultural and Literary Studies Suite, a cluster of four MAs that bring together academics, curators and practitioners who share a commitment to investigating modern and contemporary culture from aesthetic, critical, literary and experiential perspectives. MA Cultural Heritage Management aims to enhance students' knowledge of the demands of leadership in the cultural heritage sector. These include broadening the appeal of attractions and collections; anticipating sector-wide trends, nationally and internationally; exploring the possibilities of digital cultural heritage; and understanding visitors and users more effectively. A strong theme of social justice runs through the programme.

In MA Intercultural Studies encounter cultural differences every day both in our private and professional lives. Such differences are related to a society or a language area, but also to professions, ethnicities, religions, social groups, generations, and/or organizations. As a student of Intercultural Studies, you will acquire insights into different theoretical approaches to interculturality in the transnational world and work with the interrelationships of local, national, regional, and transnational identities.

Built on the experiences of various faculty members who were involved and active in cultural diplomacy and scientific projects, the Public and Cultural Diplomacy Master’s program is made up of students with diverse backgrounds, from social sciences to the humanities, and aims to improve student’s knowledge in the field of new international relations and cooperation.

The MA in Korean Studies and Intensive Language is a 2-year full-time (or 4-year part-time) programme. It is designed to provide Intensive Language training at different proficiency levels - depending on entry level - within a master's programme in Korean Studies. The MA in Korean Studies and Intensive Language allows students to Cultivate or further develop a basic expertise in particular aspects of Korean Studies

The MA Creative and Cultural Industries course will deliver comprehensive knowledge and understanding of theory and practice relevant to the broad field of Creative and Cultural Industries (CCIs). Students will encounter key global theoretical perspectives and policy approaches, sector-based practices, issues and debates, tools and insights into evidence and decision-making for strategy and enterprise at the individual, organisational and governmental levels. Through taught course units, practice-based learning and research, students will be prepared to undertake qualified management, lead business strategies, design policies and exercise entrepreneurship in CCIs.
