The M.A. in School Counseling program prepares school counselors to maximize the potential of all students through comprehensive developmental school counseling programs and develops skills as competent school counselors and effective consultants, collaborators, advocates, and leaders in an ever-changing global society.

The MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program (CMHC) offered at the Lindenwood St. Louis (St. Charles) campus provides students with a broad base of psychological knowledge and theory integrated with extensive training and practice in the use of counseling skills.

This program is based on an integrated curriculum intended to produce clinicians trained in theory, research, and clinical skills. Students accepted into the Master of Arts program can elect to specialize in mental health counseling or mental health counseling with a forensic psychology concentration.

Preparing the next generation of counselors. CACREP-Accredited program that prepares students for the eight-core content areas of the National Counselor Exam (NCE). Students have the option to enroll in and complete a dance/movement therapy concentration within the M.A. in clinical mental health counseling program.

UNC Charlotte’s Master of Arts in Addiction Counseling prepares the student to work effectively in various addiction treatment settings and with a variety of addictive behaviors. Students will learn how to assess the needs of the client, create treatment plans, help the client set goals, and refer them to critical resources.
