The M.A. in Counseling/Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in Professional Counseling prepares students to promote optimal human development and empower clients to solve personal, interpersonal, career, and other mental health problems, using a wellness model to diagnose, counsel, and implement treatment for these clients.

The MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program (CMHC) offered at the Lindenwood St. Louis (St. Charles) campus provides students with a broad base of psychological knowledge and theory integrated with extensive training and practice in the use of counseling skills.

The purpose of this course in MA in Human Resources Counselling is to educate and train professionals who are experts in providing help to organisations and companies regarding any area of human resources management, one of the functional areas of leadership counselling. Special attention will be paid to career-planning and counselling, and a major discipline is devoted to equal opportunity and the treatment of disadvantaged groups.

This program is based on an integrated curriculum intended to produce clinicians trained in theory, research, and clinical skills. Students accepted into the Master of Arts program can elect to specialize in mental health counseling or mental health counseling with a forensic psychology concentration.

Preparing the next generation of counselors. CACREP-Accredited program that prepares students for the eight-core content areas of the National Counselor Exam (NCE). Students have the option to enroll in and complete a dance/movement therapy concentration within the M.A. in clinical mental health counseling program.

UNC Charlotte’s Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling prepares students to excel as mental health counselors in a variety of clinical settings, from educational, corporate, and healthcare institutions to local nonprofits, community agencies, and private practice.

The mission of the MA in Psychology with an emphasis in Counseling Psychology program is to provide its participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to become competent in counseling psychology through academic and experiential learning. The program aims at educating future psychologists who have sound knowledge of the theory and practice of counseling psychology, who are competent consumers and creative producers of social science research, who are competent in counseling practice, and who are ethical and sensitive to the cultures, values, and worlds of various clients.

UNC Charlotte’s Master of Arts in School Counseling equips graduate students to be multiculturally competent and socially aware K-12 licensed professional school counselors who lead comprehensive, developmental, and collaborative school counseling programs.

As members of the clinical mental health counseling program of James Madison University, we have formed our own special community of faculty, staff, and students. The M.A. in School Counseling program prepares school counselors to maximize the potential of all students through comprehensive developmental school counseling programs and develops skills as competent school counselors and effective consultants, collaborators, advocates, and leaders in an ever-changing global society.

UNC Charlotte’s Master of Arts in Addiction Counseling prepares the student to work effectively in various addiction treatment settings and with a variety of addictive behaviors. Students will learn how to assess the needs of the client, create treatment plans, help the client set goals, and refer them to critical resources.

The Master of Arts in Counseling provides a comprehensive understanding of different counseling approaches plus the practical experience in helping clients assess emotional difficulties, develop insights and make lifestyle changes. The program cultivates deeper self-awareness and interpersonal communication skills – both essential for helping others.

The MA (Counselling Psychology) program leads to registration as a Counselling Psychologist with the Professional Board of Psychology of the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). This full-time program encompasses the broad spectrum of Counselling Psychology. The program consists of a research component (completion of a minor dissertation) as well as attending workshops, contact sessions, and practical work.

This programme offers integrated academic, practical and professional training in counselling psychology. The programme is a one-year full-time programme and is based on the researcher (50%)-practitioner (50%) model. All credits within all the modules need to be passed to obtain the MA (Counselling Psychology) degree.
