This is the first Master's Program in Greek & Chinese Civilizations worldwide that cultivates a comparative approach to the Ancient Greek and Chinese Civilizations and the only one that combines one year of studies in China and one year of studies in Europe. The Program is geared towards providing you with solid and deep knowledge of both the Ancient Greek and the Chinese civilizations from a comparative perspective and towards preparing you for higher research in the field.

Zhejiang University (ZJU) is the first in China to grant a master's degree in China Studies approved by the Ministry of Education. Compared to similar programs in the country, the Master of China Studies (MCS) program has the largest enrollment, with the most complete curriculum and the most extensive international cooperation. It is a model brand of ZJU in high-level international education. In November 2014, the Zhejiang University Institute of China Studies (ICS) was established.

With the rise of China as a global economic power there is an increasing demand among organisations and companies from around the world for professionals with knowledge of China’s political, economic and social systems, who can also speak Chinese.

The College of Liberal Arts, Journalism, and Communication at OUC offers this Master’s of China Studies program for international students with a keen interest in China who hope to broaden their previous studies or experiences of China, and for those who may have had little exposure to China in their studies to date and are limited by their Chinese language ability. It also aims to equip advanced, specialized personnel with a sophisticated and comprehensive understanding of China.

This master's program has been developed for students holding a B.A. degree in Economics, Business Administration or equivalent qualification who want to specialize in China business and economics. Next to classes that offer an in-depth analysis of China’s economy and approaches to doing business with China, students will learn the Chinese language and take classes in Chinese Studies. In addition, senior language classes will empower students to understand and discuss economic texts in the Chinese language. Methodological classes prepare students to use their economic and Chinese study knowledge for academic research as well as for solving business problems.

The graduate program in socio-cultural anthropology at ECNU covers general socio-cultural anthropology and applied anthropology, with particular specialties and courses in the anthropology of development, the anthropology of religion, ethnicity, and minorities in China, the anthropology of food, visual anthropology, and the anthropology of money.

The School of International Chinese Studies at East China Normal University accepts applications from international students interested in pursuing a 3-year research-oriented program for a Master degree in Literature. The program is based on ECNU’s main campus in Shanghai.
