The Master of Arts program offers an introduction to landscape architecture. Coursework emphasizes the essential factors involved in the creation of outdoor spaces. This program is appropriate for students who want to learn about the profession but are not interested in practicing as a landscape architect in the future.

The Master of Arts (M.A.) program in Interior Architecture & Design is a thirty-six (36) unit program that will provide students with a dynamic learning environment and a curriculum to prepare them for professional practice. The curriculum covers all aspects of design, including programming, design analysis, understanding human social and spatial interaction, space planning, use of color and materials, preparation of construction documents and specifications, site observation, professional business practices, current methods of interior construction, building systems and components, codes and regulations, fixtures, furnishings, and equipment.

Our two-year, 33-unit MA in Urban and Public Affairs offers a range of graduate seminars on urban studies, politics, and public policy. A 200-hour internship is required, as well as a Capstone Project that synthesizes your research and internship experience on a policy area of your choice.

The Master of Arts in Advanced Architectural Design (MA-ARH) program prepares the student through the process of critical thinking, designing, and making to provide meaningful contributions to architectural design. We work to develop each student’s individual interest through critical thought, rigorous exploration, and personal vision. The Master of Arts degree program is regionally accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).

The Master of Architectural Studies (5+1) degree is designed for students with a 5-year Bachelor of Architecture (First-Professional) degree who want to advance their knowledge of architecture through focused study and design-studio work. This one-year program builds on foundational knowledge in art and design and integrates thesis-based learning and coursework to explore architecture in the context of history and theory, tectonics, urban studies, and professional practice.

The Master of Architecture (M. Arch.) is a graduate degree that is accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). In addition to a period of professional internship, the M. Arch. degree qualifies individuals for the Architectural Registration Examination (ARE) and licensure in architecture. There are two pathways available: The M. Arch. II program for students from pre-professional undergraduate architecture programs; the M. Arch. III program for students with undergraduate degrees in fields other than architecture. Both programs sit within the Department of Architecture and Interior Design at Miami.

The Master of Architecture I (First-Professional) degree gives students with an undergraduate degree in architecture or a related field the opportunity to earn a professional master’s degree in architecture. Our program is recognized by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) as part of the requirements for eventual architectural licensure.

The MA in Urban Studies degree program is designed for students pursuing both scholarly and professional interests in the political, economic, and social dynamics of contemporary urban life. Urban Studies students explore how cities grow and evolve, govern themselves, distribute goods and services, serve the public, and employ their residents.

The Master of Architecture program emphasizes knowledge of humanist values as they impact contemporary design. It promotes the acquisition of comprehensive design skills through learning and doing — taking concepts and theories acquired in the classroom and using them in the real world.

The post-professional M.A. in Architecture is a research-based academic program for students interested in the study of architecture from an academic and scholarly perspective. It requires 36 credit hours of course work, independent study, and research. The program is designed for highly motivated students with well-defined interests who wish to pursue individualized plans of study that draw upon the diverse resources of the graduate faculty at the master level.

The accredited MA program in the Department of Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning (UEP) at Tufts prepares a new generation of leaders – ‘practical visionaries’ – who will contribute to the development of inclusive and sustainable communities. The Master of Arts in Urban Christian Ministries program is under the leadership of Dr. James Logan. It is a sixty-four (64) semester credit hour Master of Arts in Urban Christian Ministries program. This program provides the student in-depth study involving course work, research, practicum, internship, and a thesis. The educational goal of the MAUCM program is professional church employment, church planter, or pursuing further education, either for a Master of Divinity or other advanced seminary degree.
