The MA in History and Theory of Art and Architecture (MSTAA) includes the study of the history of both architecture and art. It is a complete Master which aims at counteracting the growing marginalisation of architecture in art history studies. At the same time, the study of the history of art and architecture in different eras (medieval, modern and contemporary) is complemented by in-depth studies on the theory and criticism of architecture, artistic literature, the history and practice of restoration (with moments of practice in the field), museology and digital humanities with an eye towards other artistic and cultural expressions like photography, cinema, theatre, and literature. Practical workshops and internships in affiliated institutions complete the Master's training offer.

A new concept of Interior Design Master's Course. The characteristic of this course is that Academic theory is combined with practice in a real work environment. Our course focuses on the great question of "Beauty" and its identity with advanced methods of design composition.

Interior design has a role in reshaping human relationships with local environment and with the different forms of life around us. Being of critical importance both ecologically and culturally, such relationships are likely to open up new project design perspectives for reinterpretation and regeneration.

The MA Interior Architecture and Design explores the emerging symbiotic relationship between 'interior design' and 'interior architecture' in comprehending, crafting, and implementing innovative interior spaces.

The MA Architecture Programme (ARB/RIBA Part II) at the Royal College of Art is a research-driven, studio-based post-graduate education that critically tests the making of architecture and spatial practice. The program supports the development of each student’s personal position and practices relative to the field. The program fosters an inclusive, critical, and responsive, context in which architecture is explored as a medium, rather than a goal in itself. We are attentive to urgent political, social, and ecological questions, which allows us to interrogate the contexts and processes of architectural production and support our students to redefine practice.

The MA Interior Architecture/Interior Design program is offered to graduates of interior architecture/interior design. The program strengthens the competences and specialized knowledge acquired at BA level so that students can individually apply creative and responsible solutions to tasks in the fields of interior architecture and interior design. The program is firmly grounded in the vibrant city of Berlin but taught exclusively in English. It is designed to help students understand their role and responsibility as interior architects in different physical and cultural contexts – on either a local or a global level.

The Architecture and Sustainable Heritage MA offers a distinctive programme for those interested in studying the historic built environment. The course provides a unique platform for students to advance careers in heritage practice or engage in specialised research.

Our MA Urban Design programme is jointly delivered by the Welsh School of Architecture and the School of Geography and Planning. The goal of this programme is to enable practitioners and scholars to transform the field of urban design through critical thinking and creative practice. Urban design is transdisciplinary, straddling professional fields such as architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning and public policy, and also disciplines such as politics, economics, sociology and cultural studies.

The Faculty of Architecture and Design’s M.A. in “Architecture & Spatial Practices” is available in both one-year and two-year formats. The program features an international, practice- and research-oriented curriculum with an open thematic focus. In the two-year program, the first year expands on foundational skills in design, construction, and research, while the second year aligns with the one-year program.

Their impact on health is self-evident – urban planners gave us our sewage systems, architects decent public housing and healthcare buildings. This master track provides students a rich and varied introduction in the history and theory of architecture and urban planning. Since healthcare architecture requires a thorough understanding of the history and theory of architecture, and the world of healthy cities can only be analyzed against the background of urbanism, the Expertise Centre Architecture, Urbanism and Health is embedded in a classical approach of architectural and urban history and theory. The Master of Science in Architecture with a concentration in Critical Heritage Studies can be combined with the Masters of Arts in Anthropology. The Critical Heritage / Anthropology combination allows students to pursue interconnected, interdisciplinary coursework and allows time for an independent research thesis that is not part of the stand-alone MS in Critical Heritage curriculum.

The MA in Arts and Culture: History of Architecture and Urbanism positions the evolution of the European city (including the post-socialist cities in Central and Eastern Europe) as intimately linked with trends and tendencies at the global scale. The input of the Thomassen a Thuessink Chair results in a clear focus on the health effects of the built environment and the phenomena summarized in the healthy cities concept (ranging from yesterday's hygienic measures to tomorrow's urban guerilla gardening campaigns).

The Master of Arts program offers an introduction to landscape architecture. Coursework emphasizes the essential factors involved in the creation of outdoor spaces. This program is appropriate for students who want to learn about the profession but are not interested in practicing as a landscape architect in the future.
