The MA Architecture Programme (ARB/RIBA Part II) at the Royal College of Art is a research-driven, studio-based post-graduate education that critically tests the making of architecture and spatial practice. The program supports the development of each student’s personal position and practices relative to the field. The program fosters an inclusive, critical, and responsive, context in which architecture is explored as a medium, rather than a goal in itself. We are attentive to urgent political, social, and ecological questions, which allows us to interrogate the contexts and processes of architectural production and support our students to redefine practice.

The Master's track History of Architecture and Urbanism explores the evolution of cities, villages, and landscape design in Europe within the continuously changing global environment.

The Architecture and Sustainable Heritage MA offers a distinctive programme for those interested in studying the historic built environment. The course provides a unique platform for students to advance careers in heritage practice or engage in specialised research.

The Faculty of Architecture and Design’s M.A. in “Architecture & Spatial Practices” is available in both one-year and two-year formats. The program features an international, practice- and research-oriented curriculum with an open thematic focus. In the two-year program, the first year expands on foundational skills in design, construction, and research, while the second year aligns with the one-year program.

The MA City Design envisions new concepts of city and urban life by placing design speculation at the core of social innovation. City life is undergoing momentous change. New forms of urban development and technologically driven forms of social innovation are transforming the way we live, work, reproduce and take care of the world around us, producing new lines of social solidarity as well as new sites of social conflict. Yet most of the methods used to research and design cities have resisted change, thus limiting our ability to perceive relevant changes and conceive radically different futures.

The Urban and Regional Planning MA will give you the skills, knowledge and abilities necessary to practise professionally as a spatial planner in a variety of private, public and third sector/ community contexts. Building on the University of Westminster's experience of delivering postgraduate courses in town planning for more than 80 years, it examines planning across diverse contexts and scales but focuses in particular on planning in, and for, towns, cities, and urban regions in the UK. History and Critical Thinking (HCT) is a 12-month MA programme that offers a postgraduate platform from which to develop and communicate knowledge, connecting contemporary issues with systematic historical enquiry.
