The LLB (Hons) Law and Legal Practice has a strong applied focus, that prepares you to practice law once you have graduated, and to qualify as a Barrister, Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive. You can gain hands-on clinical legal experience by volunteering in our Law Clinic.

The accelerated LLB (Hons) Law and Legal Practice degree can be completed in just two years (rather than the standard 3 years). It has a strong applied focus, that prepares you to practice law once you have graduated, and to qualify as a Barrister, Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive. You can gain hands-on experience by volunteering in our Law Clinic. The accelerated degree is not available to international students. International students are eligible for the 3-year LLB.

On our 1-Year Top-Up programme, you enter the final year of the practice-based LLB (Hons) Law and Legal Practice, and study 4 x 30-credit Level 6 modules.

During this course, students will be able to study the basic principles of law, legal processes and legal concepts. They will gain profound knowledge of litigation and law application and procedures in order to operate, with adequate proficiency, in positions of Law enforcement and practice. Students will acquire a first degree in law, which would allow them to be admitted to the legal profession or to work as a legal consultant by developing skills and abilities pertinent to a lawyer, such as problem-solving, critical thinking, self-motivation and specialised knowledge of the law.

The LLB (Hons) Law with Foundation Year is a 4-year law degree. It is aimed at students who wish to pursue a career in the legal or wider commercial sector. The LLB has a practical focus on employability integrated into the course. There is a high level of face-to-face tuition. The law modules are delivered predominantly by professionally qualified lawyers. Students will study the key legal topics and related skills that are critical for the modern law student but also have a choice of options. The course is delivered over two semesters per academic year.

This course is designed to be the most focused professional law degree available. It's designed for students who wish to study a practically focused intensive course in two years, and wish to pursue a career in the legal sector. It’s a faster more intensive route, taught by the same tutors and using the same high-quality teaching methods as our three-year law degree.

Our LLB (Hons) Senior Status degree has been designed specifically for graduates who wish to convert to the study of law. It's for those who wish to convert to the study of law but want to study over a two year period. Students will study the foundation subjects but have the benefit of being able to select 4 law option subjects so as to enhance career development prospects.

Balancing Life & Part-Time Law School Giving students a greater opportunity to excel academically and have a more balanced law school experience is factored into every aspect of the law program at GUCL. The part-time schedule and evening classes allow students to continue working full-time and to maintain their personal commitments while pursuing their legal education at night.
