The BA in Law major is designed to provide undergraduate students with a deep grasp of the essential topics, major concepts,and core theoretical perspectives within the discipline of law and legal studies broadly conceived. GGU’s BA in Law degree prepares graduates for law-related careers for which a law license is not necessary, but in which it is helpful to be able to “think like a lawyer.”

Gannon University’s Charles W. Deaner, Esq. ’48 Pre-Law program prepares you to enter into Gannon’s legal studies program and pursue a career in law school or a legal profession. Engage in the course and project work to learn the fundamentals of analyzing problems, identifying significant facts, evaluating precedent, interpreting statutes, and constructing policy arguments.

Balancing Life & Part-Time Law School Giving students a greater opportunity to excel academically and have a more balanced law school experience is factored into every aspect of the law program at GUCL. The part-time schedule and evening classes allow students to continue working full-time and to maintain their personal commitments while pursuing their legal education at night.

The Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies is meant to prepare students to be successful in law school or in graduate schools leading to legal careers. The program emphasizes critical thinking, logical reasoning, and analysis of contemporary legal and social issues, reading and writing.

This program covers the criminal justice system, from crime detection through criminal appeals, using case law, statutes, public administration, philosophy, psychology, and other academic fields as the basis of study. It focuses not just on the process, but the agencies involved, including law enforcement, prosecution, defense, the court system, and corrections.
