Our law degree offers wide a range of legal knowledge, which includes optional modules in family law, commercial law, company law, contract law, environmental law, and international law. You will study essential areas of legal knowledge such as public law, land law, equity and trusts, contract law, criminal law, and tort law.

The legal profession requires graduates to possess both intellectual and practical skills, and the course explicitly addresses these requirements with a structured programme of skills development. It will equip you with the transferable and cognitive skills necessary for lifelong personal and professional development. You can also add an international dimension to your studies through a further year of law study abroad in one of the School's partner institutions in Europe and overseas.

The LLB (Hons) Law and Legal Practice has a strong applied focus, that prepares you to practice law once you have graduated, and to qualify as a Barrister, Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive. You can gain hands-on clinical legal experience by volunteering in our Law Clinic.

The accelerated LLB (Hons) Law and Legal Practice degree can be completed in just two years (rather than the standard 3 years). It has a strong applied focus, that prepares you to practice law once you have graduated, and to qualify as a Barrister, Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive. You can gain hands-on experience by volunteering in our Law Clinic. The accelerated degree is not available to international students. International students are eligible for the 3-year LLB.

On our 1-Year Top-Up programme, you enter the final year of the practice-based LLB (Hons) Law and Legal Practice, and study 4 x 30-credit Level 6 modules.
