The one-year Master's degree in Literary Studies offers two tracks: English Literature and Culture and Writing, Editing and Mediating.

Visual Arts & Post-Contemporary Practise is a graduation track of the Master of Arts in Fine Art & Design at Avans. In the graduation track Visual Arts, you develop practice- and process-based research with students from other disciplines. In a setting that connects cultural studies, visual and digital cultures.

The MA in Writing, Editing and Mediating offers training in writing about literature for non-academic audiences. The students will work with correcting and editing written English of various kinds, in modules that address issues related to modern publishing. Our international staff provides teaching and support to the students in small groups (typically 15-20 students).

The master's in Creative Writing goes beyond writing itself. Over the programme of two years, you will be conducting analytical research and experiment. You will also work together with others in the European literary scene, always considering social issues.

The Classics track of the MA in Classics & Ancient Civilizations offers education in a wide range of skills to the aspiring classicist: from in-depth analysis of all aspects of a Greek or Latin text to interdisciplinary and thematic studies of important facets of Classical Antiquity.

In the Classics degree programme, you will learn to apply academic tools and theories in studying various themes from Antiquity, and to critically assess written and material sources. You can opt for a language-oriented curriculum, or combine literary and historical subjects. In the Ancient History specialization we take a historical approach to the period from Hellenism to Late Antiquity.
