The 2-year master's programme in Estonian and Finno-Ugric Languages (EFUL) is unique in combining in-depth language learning with comprehensive, English-based studies in linguistics. We offer specialisations in either Estonian or Finno-Ugric Languages. Whichever you choose, you will have access to shared modules on theoretical and methodological aspects of synchronic and diachronic linguistics, with an emphasis on active language learning, combining theory and practice. The Master of Arts in Linguistics programme at NTU School of Humanities provides a holistic education across the different elements of language and communication at a deeper level. The English Studies programme offers a specialist qualification in English literature, cultural studies, and linguistics. It combines theoretical and empirical analysis of the role of the English language, culture, and literature in modern society. The programme features three balanced blocks of courses in linguistics, literature, and culture, with an optional specialisation in Media Linguistics. This track provides a solid foundation in contemporary linguistic research, equipping students for careers in research, teaching, and language-related fields.

The Linguistics Division provides the students with a solid foundation in both theoretical and applied linguistics. Each student's program is constructed by the individual student and his/her supervisors.
