The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) aims to provide world-class education and to conduct research in emerging fields of engineering. To achieve these aims, the Department adopts an interdisciplinary approach and includes subject areas that ensure our graduates are equipped to meet Hong Kong's current and future needs.

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) performs cutting-edge research and provides professional education in energy- and environment-related issues. Students start with a common year of foundation study.

As a liberal arts university, Lingnan University aims to provide a unique postgraduate experience in Environmental Science by combining the expertise in the Science Unit with the three faculties (Arts, Social Sciences, and Business), as well as partnerships with local and international NGOs. The Science Unit has five members whose research and teaching interests cover core areas of environmental science including ecology, evolution, geology, geography, urban studies, and environmental education.

This programme aims to equip graduates with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in food science and safety (such as food chemistry, nutritional science, microbiology, food engineering, food safety management) that can work in the food-related industry and promote food safety in society. These could help them to perform effectively in the food, nutrition and catering industries and solve problems related to food science and safety. It will also provide students with generic management skills to function effectively as supervisors and managers as they progress in their careers.

Programmes offered under this Scheme share some common subjects. There should be no fewer than 27 common credits in the first three semesters (excluding summer terms). Students are expected to have chosen a specific Major from the Scheme’s programmes by the end of semester 1 of Year 2. After successfully completing the four-year programme, students are awarded a degree in their selected major programme.
