The Law Degree offered by the Porto School of Law of the UCP Faculty of Law is a 4-year university-level degree. NOVA School of Law’s 3rd Cycle Programme in Law is a four-year program leading to a Ph.D. degree in Law. The Programme comprises a taught component (over three semesters) where advanced legal studies are carried out with an interdisciplinary focus. This period also provides training in research methodologies and other complementary skills. Towards the end of the taught component of the Programme, candidates must prepare and publicly defend their thesis project.

The Double Degree in Law and Management program is the result of a partnership between the Faculty of Law and Católica Porto Business School and allows the completion of two distinct degrees (one in Law and one in Management) in a total of 10 semesters.

The programme is designed to prepare for careers in the Public and Private Sectors: from public administration, diplomatic and consular services, or international organizations, but also third sector entities (mainly NGO’s), international or public affairs consultancy or multinational companies.

The Master in Litigation and Arbitration is the appropriate choice for lawyers who intend to pursue a career as dispute resolution counsel or as judges. The course prepares future judges and lawyers for the national exams for the ‘Centro de Estudos Judiciários’, and the Portuguese Bar. Furthermore, master's students will broaden their legal knowledge in essential fields of both national and international law.
