The programme is taught by expert teachers from Lund University, supported by leading academics from other top-ranked universities, and with input from senior practitioners in key EU institutions, national authorities and leading law firms. Contemporary international trade law involves multiple fields of law, which affect all aspects of business. Firms and institutions must constantly be prepared to adapt to new challenges. For example, climate considerations and other issues of sustainability transform the business environment globally. In addition, digitalization, artificial intelligence and automation create new legal issues for businesses and legislatures. The programme, which builds on previous studies in law, management and/or economics, provides an in-depth understanding of both the practical and theoretical aspects of trade and tax law within the EU as well as globally.

For 30 years, the Master of Laws in International Human Rights Law has been offered by the Faculty of Law. It is a cooperative venture by the Faculty of Law and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI). This makes your education unique: no other LL.M programme offers the joint resources of a prestigious law school and an implementation-oriented human rights institution. The Master of Laws in International Human Rights Law is one of the first LL.M programmes established specifically to provide for the academic mastery of an increasingly complex area: the international law of human rights and humanitarian law.

The Master of Science Programme in Sociology of Law is an interdisciplinary programme aimed at introducing students to the study of law, legal institutions and legal behaviour in a social context. It offers an advanced overview of the sociology of law with the possibility of specialisation in socio-legal areas, criminal justice and social control, criminology, society and corruption, human rights, AI and digitalised governance. The objective of the programme is to increase the students’ knowledge of how the law and legal institutions work at the national and transnational levels and how they impact the everyday life of ordinary citizens.

After completing the course, the doctoral students shall have the ability to explain fundamental questions, theories, and concepts within normative ethics, metaethics, and view of life studies; identify areas within the welfare society that can be analyzed using ethical and view of life study.
