International Law and Human Rights is a 2-year master's program at the School of Law of The University of Tartu, providing comprehensive knowledge of the principles, regulations, subjects, and practice in the field of international law and human rights. Students can obtain comprehensive knowledge in the field of international law and human rights. All students are given strong ground knowledge in international law and human rights, and then they can expand their knowledge in specific areas, depending on their needs and interests, by taking various elective courses.

The MA program in Human Rights in the Digital Society was created to address new developments and challenges in law and society that have arisen in connection with the ever-increasing digitalization. The program provides a unique opportunity to engage with questions like what are the limits of the freedom of speech online or what is sovereignty over the digital environment? Or how to balance human rights in the online environment? This program will provide students with the skill set necessary to analyze the effects of digitalization on human rights and law in general. The courses have a balance between theory and practice problems and assignments. The students will be encouraged to take a critical perspective, research topical issues that they feel passionate about, and highlight flaws in the current system.

This program's general objective is to prepare middle managers with comprehensive and specific knowledge and practical skills, who, as specialists, are able to take responsibility and make strategic decisions to formulate and implement environmental management and environmental policy at the international level, considering the climate change and the European Green Deal.

The BA in Politics and Governance is a contemporary academic program combining a strong politics and governance core with a variety of choices including international relations, economics, and management. It is a curriculum aiming to prepare students for the more complex and interrelated world. No country or company is an island these days – they are all affected by political, societal, and economic trends, national and international policies, and governmental and non-governmental actors. The program equips students with a broad knowledge basis to prepare them for a future not just in the government or party politics, but also as knowledgeable and able actors in international organizations, the third sector, or even the private sector.

The program is a classical law program that teaches the basics of law and covers legal theory, private law, public law, and with a specialization in EU law and international law. Based on personal interests, you can choose between many optional courses. Traditional branches of law like constitutional law, contract law, property law, criminal law, etc., are taught by comparative analysis of different states’ laws, with a strong emphasis on law and technology and law and business.

Our law program enables you to specialize either in business law or law and technology. Business law covers the main areas of law related to business and the economy with a focus on digital market issues and regulations such as Fintech, Global Trade and Transnational Law, Online Commercial Law, Competition Law, and Labour Law.

The Master’s program in e-Governance Technologies and Services gives students broad knowledge on developing a modern digital state, its transition to seamless fully digitalized services, and the necessary building blocks on e-society. Teaching is conducted in English and studies are free of charge for Estonian and EU citizens.

The Erasmus Mundus Master of Science in Public Sector Innovation and EGovERnance (PIONEER) is a 120 ECTS joint master program organized by the KU Leuven, the University of Münster and Tallinn University of Technology.
