Turkey and five Central Asian countries including Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan located on Eurasian Silk Road have used the same language and formed a single cultural area. The Department of Turkish-Central Asian Languages offers a regional approach to the area to develop Eurasian Vision and also broadens understanding and knowledge of the area. By studying the Turkish-Central Asian language, history, and culture in comparison with or linking to Korean studies, students can develop a humanistic understanding of Turkey-Central Asia, a region with a similar language and culture to Korea. In addition, the Department provides the academic and practical information of the area including politics, society, and economics, and cultivates local management skills through exchange programs with the countries to nurture professionals contributing to Korean and Turkish-Central Asian relations.

The Humanities Korea (HK) Research Center of the Institute of Buddhist Culture at Geumgang University held a Sans Crit Lecture in Gyeryong City, Chungcheongnam-do to expand communication with citizens and the foundation of humanities. In the beginner's class, he lectured on Sanskrit grammar, and in the intermediate class, he read Chapter 4 of Hatha Yoga Pradipika. In this civic lecture, 12 people from Chungnam, Jeonbuk, and metropolitan areas, including the general public, doctors, and professors, participated, and 9 of them completed the 8-week course.

The Korean Studies major aims to educate students in an integrated way based on Korean traditional culture, popular culture, society, language, literature, and media, in order to make them improve their practical skills and knowledge. The major is to teach students about problem-solving skills for dealing with the changes in Korean culture, and eventually to produce 'Creative Future-Oriented Students' who will lead the 'Culture-Technology Age'.

The Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation aims to foster competent interpreters and translators who satisfy the domestic and overseas demands for interpretation and translation. The demands for professional interpreters and translators in this region are expected to significantly increase due to the relocation of The US Armed Forces bases in Korea to Pyeongtaek; the increased use of Pyeongtaek Port; the relocation of Samsung Electronics; the relocation of LG Electronics; the development of a new town; and the establishment of the Pyeongtaek Free Trade Zone. The Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation is comprised of the Department of Korean-English Interpretation and Translation and the Department of Korean Language Education.

Established in 1946, Dong-A University is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the metropolis of Busan (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education of Korea, Dong-A University (DAU) is a large coeducational South Korean higher education institution.

Since its establishment in 1979, the Department of Korean Language and Literature focuses on three fields of study: Korean linguistics, contemporary literature, and classical literature. Korean linguistics is the study of rules and evolution that govern the Korean language whereas contemporary literature is the research, criticism, and creativeness of each literary genre of modern times. Classical literature is the study to understand the reality of the national literary traditions and establish a phase-cultural history by incorporating both the oral and written literature. The Department of Korean Language and Literature studies these three fields systematically and simultaneously explores a wide range of applications in ways to continue to contribute to the national culture.

Department of Korean Language & Literature cultivates national identity and also globalization through in-depth learning of the Korean language and culture. Furthermore, the department enhances students' ability to be self-reliant through diverse conferences/seminars. Our students obtain hands-on knowledge through field trips and build solidarities between the lower and upperclassmen students by holding an academic festival each year. The annually published Hyangran Eomun ('Hyangran Language & Literature') summarizes all the activities held by these activities. Our curriculum organizes subjects by focusing on aptitude and levels of difficulty for different majors. With specialties assigned to modern literature, classical literature, and Korean linguistics, the curriculum ensures that students gradually build up their skills in Korean language and literature.

Korean language and literature are the subjects of our department’s study. Korean language is the mother tongue of the Korean people and includes the ancient tongue, modern tongue, and dialects. Korean literature means all literary works which have been written in the Korean language, and our study is divided into two areas: Korean modern literature and classics.

The Division of Japanese aims at nurturing Japanese-speaking experts with a high level of practical skills who can play active parts on the global stage. For that purpose, the Division is equipped with an efficient learning system for students to have a native-level Japanese proficiency including the interpretation and translation competence, learn Japanese cultures, and understand the current situations in that area through a high-tech advanced mass-media.

The College of Korean Medicine, established to educate skilled and devoted oriental medicine practitioners, has grown to become a reputable institute for research and education in the field of Korean medicine. The Hall of Oriental Medicine, located in the Yangjeong area of Busan, provides a fertile academic atmosphere where students can concentrate on their study and clinical training in-depth and prepare for national examinations. The two affiliated oriental medicine hospitals located in Yangjeong (in Busan) and Ulsan (a city of one million just north of Busan) focus on producing professional medical doctors who can skillfully apply their theoretical knowledge to the clinical fields.
