The UTS Juris Doctor is an internationally recognised graduate-entry qualification for non-law graduates. The Juris Doctor Master of Business Administration gives students exposure to theoretical learning and professional practice in the disciplines of law and business. The Juris Doctor (JD) is a full-time, two-year law degree that provides comprehensive and in-depth legal education to students without prior background in the law. The programme's emphasis is not on rote learning of legal rules but critical appreciation and assessment of the underpinnings of these rules.

The JD Programme is a versatile postgraduate law degree for graduates with bachelor degrees in non-law disciplines, which potentially leads to admission into the legal profession or assuming leadership roles in various work sectors.

The purpose of education in the Faculty of Law is to develop human resources who can deal with the complex problems of modern society with knowledge, judgment, and a comprehensive perspective that can respond to the development of science and technology and changes in social structure. To achieve this, the Faculty of Law provides specialized education in a wide range of fields such as law, politics/administration, economics/management, and encourages both literary and military arts. The Faculty of Law wants students who are sympathetic to these principles and goals and who have the following sense of purpose to enroll.

As the issues facing society become increasingly complex, there is an even greater need for individuals with the legal training and ability to meet such challenges. The main focus of the Faculty of Law is to instill in students the spirit to pursue the practical education needed in an ever-changing legal environment. The analytical skills acquired through the study of law extend beyond the legal field and touch on a wide variety of qualifications and employment opportunities, including the path to a career in public service. The Department of Law prepares students to tackle future legal issues by expanding both their legal knowledge and legal thought processes - the development of the “legal mind.” Taking a minor in English gives students an even stronger grounding in that language and rounds out their legal education with a broader international outlook.

In addition, through introductory exercises and basic exercises for each course and program, you will acquire basic knowledge and skills such as reading comprehension and analytical skills.
