The Dual MA in International War Studies will be offered by University College Dublin and the University of Potsdam. Students will spend one academic year in each institution. The MA will enable students to experience two different academic structures.

The MSc in Gender, Politics and International Relations is an intensive programme that prepares you for a career in research, policy, or advocacy in international organisations, governmental and non-governmental bodies, or academia. The programme focuses on combining in-depth sub-disciplinary knowledge with advanced methodological skills, across both established and emerging methods.

DCU’s MA in International Security and Conflict Studies equips students with the skills to analyse global security challenges, including peacekeeping, online radicalisation, and international treaties. With diverse students and expert faculty, the programme encourages collaborative learning through vibrant classroom discussions.

The MA in Politics is a one-year, full-time programme that enables students to choose the areas they wish to specialise in within the field of politics. This is a truly flexible programme that enables students to tailor the degree to their own interests, skills and future career plans. The only core modules that the MA in Politics students will be required to complete will be the two research methods modules that are common to all our postgraduate taught degrees. In addition, they can choose any two electives in the first semester and any three in the second.

The MA in International Peacebuilding, Security and Development Practice offers participants a unique learning opportunity to engage deeply with these issues and to develop the skills they need to address them. It draws on a range of experienced lecturers, who have extensive experience in development, peacekeeping/peace-making or security in international settings.

The MA in Chinese Studies aims to provide students who already have a background in Chinese language and culture at undergraduate level with an opportunity to specialise in the area of cultural and literary analysis with particular emphasis on the conflict and communication within the Sinosphere (mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau) and between China and the West.

DCU’s MSc in Political Communication prepares you for roles in public, private, or nonprofit sectors. Gain expertise in media, spin, fake news, PR, and political advertising. With work placement opportunities or a reflection project, you’ll build practical skills and complete a dissertation on a topic of your choice.

The MA Politics joins some of the most reputable contemporary thinkers in psychoanalysis, to introduce different positions in the psychoanalytic landscape. It aims to create a dialogue between different understandings of psychoanalysis, apply psychoanalysis to problems beyond the individual subject and develop models of understanding the human mind in its interaction with the world beyond single psychoanalytic positions.

The DGov is a 4 - 5 year professional doctoral programme. It provides public policy-makers and public sector managers with advanced knowledge and high-level critical skills that their professional lives demand.
