12 International Relations and Global Politics Degree Programs in Hong Kong

This major is the first and only program in Hong Kong to focus on the increasingly important Asian region in this Asian age. It strengthens students’ international perspectives. It features opportunities for students to join overseas exchange programs and field trips to different countries in and beyond Asia to broaden their horizons.

Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) originated from the University of Oxford in the 1920s. HSUHK is the first and only university offering a PPE Programme in Hong Kong. Compared to other programmes that concentrate solely on Philosophy, Politics or Economics, BSocSc-PPE serves as a unique interdisciplinary study programme that emphasises generalist training and aims to equip students with capacities and skills that are applicable in a variety of careers, including economic and financial analysis, policy and public administration consultant, and civil servants.

This BA programme aims to nurture students to become competent English language professionals and responsible global citizens in the 21st century. The Department of Chinese and History offers the major in Chinese and History with two streams – a) Chinese & b) History and Cultural Heritage. It aims to equip students with advanced and professional knowledge and a wide range of analytical and writing skills.

This MA programme aims to provide students with a comprehensive and critical understanding of the theory and practice of English in educational and professional contexts.

The Chinese (Honors) Bachelor of Arts program is a four-year bachelor's degree program. Students must complete at least 41 units, totaling 120 credits, over the four years. In addition to the college's graduation requirements, students in this program must obtain a Level 3A or higher in the National Putonghua Proficiency Test administered by the State Language Commission in order to graduate.

Internationally-experienced faculty members in the Department of Political Science have quality publication records and some are recognised as experts in their fields of study. Faculty members in the Department specialise in a wide range of sub-disciplines, such as the governance and politics of Hong Kong and China, Asian-Pacific international relations, regional and global politics. Particular strengths in instruction and supervision include governance of Hong Kong, Chinese reform politics, regionalism, sport-politics nexus, Chinese foreign and security policies, Korean peninsula politics, and democratisation in Asia.
