The Law Research Degree (PhD) programme run by the School of Law accepts candidates for research work leading to a PhD. The central feature of PhD work is the close relationship between the doctoral candidate and his or her supervisor, in which they meet regularly and consult closely. This relationship is supported and strengthened in various ways.

The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) programme, along with Masters of Laws, Masters of Environmental Law, and PhD, are offered by USP’s School of Law. These programmes specifically focus on the legal systems of the South Pacific region, particularly those of USP's 12 Member Countries: the Cook Islands, Fiji Islands, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tokelau, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.

The PhD program in Law and Social Change considers applications from candidates who are willing to undertake high-level research on any topic related to the several challenges that the law faces in the contemporary world – preferably with a view to the transnational dimension of such challenges.

The general Master of Laws program is for students who have already completed a law degree and want to enhance their legal skills by focusing on a particular field or an emerging area of law.

The purposes of the LLB degree are to equip the student with a reflective understanding of the law so as to enable the student to apply the law in the competent and effective provision of legal services to the community.

The International Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree program at the University of California, Irvine School of Law, offers a first-rate legal education to lawyers, judges, government officials, and others wishing to become educated about the legal system and practice of law in the United States.

The achievement of this competence implies having an attitude of seeking the truth, from different orders of knowledge, about human nature and personal dignity common to all men and women, with a particular attention to ethical and moral implications, by resorting to the knowledge of the different conceptions of the person throughout history and the social, political and legal consequences of those conceptions.

Our two-year accredited course offers an entry route into the Scottish legal profession, enabling graduates to practise as a solicitor or work towards becoming an advocate in Scotland.

The purpose of this qualification is to let students demonstrate an ability to make their own, distinctive and novel contribution to the corpus of knowledge on a particular subject of legal study.

The Master of Laws (LL.M) is a two-year programme taught in English worth 120 ECTS credits. It offers a number of case-oriented courses in a modular setup within a broad range of legal fields. Specifically, you will experience a law-in-context approach in three chosen modules from a list of five: 1) European Constitutionalism and Fundamental Rights; 2) Sustainable Development and Global Justice; 3) Commercial Transactions & Disputes; 4) Commercial Transactions: Rights & Governance; and 5) Diversity and Law. You will also have the opportunity to develop research skills and make use of our partnerships with excellent universities across the globe by spending a semester abroad.
