The program includes mandatory and non-mandatory (alternative) courses providing the students with the following knowledge:

  • advanced technologies (biotechnological, chemical, enzymatic) for drug production;
  • technologies for drug preparation, new forms of drug production from drug substances;
  • drug production, quality control, distribution, efficacy assessment, customs and legal strategies development and paperwork;
  • drug synthesis, structure investigation and certification methodology;
  • bodyโ€™s function and metabolism, their disorders, physiology and anatomy, as well as pathological processes and reasons for hereditary diseases and innovative methods of their investigation;
  • the theoretical and experimental one about pharmacological properties of drugs, their availability, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenetics and other issues.

Scopes of scientific research:

  • synthesis and study of potential pharmacologically active substances and their components (amino acids, peptides, enzymes);
  • biotechnological production, microbiological synthesis and biotransformation of new potential biologically active substances;
  • planning of clinical research of drugs, its realization and results analysis;
  • medicobiological screening of new substances;
  • drug design;
  • monitoring of medicinal herbs and identification of biologically active substances in them, production of galena and new galena drugs.

Your Degree Highlights and Facilities

Upon completion of the program, the student will be able to:

  • carry out an appropriate medicinal activity, work at drug agencies and drug-producing companies, provide marketing services in the field of pharmacy economics and management;
  • carry out investigations in various fields of pharmacy, comprehensively analyze and publish the obtained results, perceive the contemporary medical literature and apply it in practice;
  • make pharm analysis of prescriptions, professional examination and organization of drug production;
  • analyze and have a clear understanding of the role and importance of clinical pharmacology in the preservation of public health and medicine; analyze and evaluate the patientโ€™s main symptoms for choosing an optimal drug scheme of treatment;
  • analyze and perceive the peculiarities of wholesale and retail trade, assess available drug markets;
  • make quantitative and qualitative analyses of drugs and supplements in line with the modern requirements;
  • do research in pharmaceutical chemistry, biotechnology, pharmacology, medical screening of drugs and other fields.

Eligibility

Applicants must have enough knowledge of English, high school diploma.

Application Process and Necessary Documents

The application process is carried out in accordance with the admission rules of the Yerevan State University's Bachelorโ€™s and Master's degree programs.

Foreign citizens applying for admission at Yerevan State University (YSU) should provide:

  3. A CV in English, Armenian or Russian
  4. 2 certified copies of passport (confirmed by Armenian Embassy or Armenian consulate representative. Citizens from CIS countries can provide only notarized translations). The first copy is for Yerevan State University, the second copy is necessary for a student residence permit.
  5. Copy of previous academic certificates (diplomas) and transcripts (confirmed by Armenian Embassy or Armenian consulate representative. Citizens from CIS countries can provide only notarized translations).
  6. Notarized and verified copy of the birth certificate, translated into Armenian.
  7. 2 original copies of general health certificate (this certificate can be provided by any Armenian medical institution). The first copy is for Yerevan State University, the second copy is necessary for the student residence permit.

Important Dates

For BA and MA students, the period for passing documents is from 1st of June to the 15th of August. The lessons begin on the 1st of September.

Tuition fee

1.300.000 AMD (about 2730 USD according to the current exchange rate of Central Bank of Armenia) per academic year.

Armenian Visa

Information about obtaining Armenian visa is provided at the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia ( https://www.mfa.am/en/visa/ ). Upon arrival to Armenia necessary information and assistance for a residence permit will be provided by the Foreign Studentsโ€™ Department of Yerevan State University.
