Key Summary

About: The MSc in Engineering offers a comprehensive curriculum that integrates advanced engineering principles with practical applications. Students will engage in problem-solving and hands-on projects, enhancing their technical skills and preparing them for dynamic engineering challenges. The program typically lasts one year for full-time students, with options for part-time study available.
Career Outcomes: Graduates can pursue various roles in engineering and technology sectors, including positions as project managers, design engineers, systems engineers, or research and development specialists. The program prepares students for leadership roles in engineering firms, manufacturing companies, and governmental agencies.

This Systems Engineering programme has been developed as a practice-based systems engineering (PBSE) suite of courses where the University presents the theoretical background and participating industry organisations, in which the students are employed, provide opportunities to apply the material on real projects.

The systems engineering world, as seen through the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), is moving from document-centric approaches to model-based systems engineering (MBSE). Many international projects are using MBSE and tools are widely available today. MBSE requires a curriculum that prepares a new breed of systems engineers. To develop MBSE skills there is a need to shift the focus from systems engineering processes and management to include a technical component which addresses the β€œhow to” (skill). This programme facilitates this shift.
