The Foundation Degree in Sport; Coaching, Health & Fitness (delivered in partnership with the University of Plymouth) will appeal to those interested in sport or would like the opportunity to develop and enhance their understanding of either the coaching or fitness industry. If you are looking for a career in a dynamic and fast-growing profession doing something you enjoy, this course is well worth considering. Aims The course aims to provide you with a sound understanding of the key components of coaching, health and fitness, lifestyles and attitudes to exercise, promotion of healthy living, fitness and training principles, and industry-specific management skills. You will be offered the opportunity to gain additional professional qualifications (Active IQ), which will qualify you to work as fitness instructors in the field.

Successful students have the opportunity to apply for the University of Plymouth BSc (Hons) Professional Practice (Health and Community) Top Upheld at Weymouth College or BSc (Hons) Health and Fitness Top Upheld at the University of Plymouth. Progression onto other top-up courses at various institutions is an option for those who wish to apply to study elsewhere.
