Introduction
The MSc Research Methods is designed to provide a viable academic platform for building research skills based on international standards and academic rigour. The course will help you build research skills should you wish to improve relevant competencies in social sciences. As a leading higher educational institution in Central Asia, WIUT is a pioneer in introducing the most advanced teaching and learning experience to a diverse student population. The MSc Research Methods course is based on a unique combination of learning and practice in three dimensions important for research: training on hard skills in research, soft and transferable skills and applied research practices envisaged by developing individual dissertation work and a team-based community project that will provide research-based solutions to a real-life problem.
Why study this course?
- Unique course “design”. The course design aims to facilitate simultaneous learning progress on three pillars. Training on hard skills for research, developing soft and transferable skills, and mastering acquired in-class knowledge through practice.
- International standards of research. Research ethics and best practices; quantitative, qualitative, and mixed research methods; publication of research findings, all based on international best-in-class standards.
- Research outreach. Ability to conduct and disseminate research for both academic and non-academic (practitioners, public decision-makers) audiences.
