Loans
A loan is financial support you pay back in installments after your studies. Check out these loans if you’re:
- Living in Ontario
- From another province in Canada
- Studying part-time
- Going on an exchange
- In need of additional support due to disability, childcare, or low family income
Ontario Learn and Stay Grant
You don't need to pay back a grant, as long as you meet conditions. The Ontario Learn and Stay Grant provides funding to Nursing students at Western if they commit to work in the London region for a certain term after graduation. The grant will cover your tuition, textbooks, and other educational costs.
Scholarships are awards for academic or other achievements. For example:
- Western’s Admission Scholarship Program – based on your high school average. You’re automatically considered for this.
- Western's Admission Scholarship for Black and Indigenous Students – based on your high school average. You're automatically considered but first, you'll need to self-identify as Black or Indigenous.
- Western's Admission Scholarship for Black and Indigenous Students – based on your high school average. You're automatically considered but first, you'll need to self-identify as Black or Indigenous.
- National Scholarship Program – for all-around excellence. Receive up to $72,000!
- Five $50,000 James Jenkins President's Entrance Scholarships for Black students.
- One $80,000 Neen Hodgins National Entrance Scholarship for Arts & Humanities students.
- Five $50,000 James Jenkins President's Entrance Scholarships for Black students.
- One $80,000 Neen Hodgins National Entrance Scholarship for Arts & Humanities students.
- Schulich Leader Scholarships – up to $100,000 to study Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) subjects.
- Faculty of Arts & Humanities Entrance Scholarships – automatic scholarship of $2,000 or $2,500 depending on your admission average.
Bursaries & Work Study
Bursaries and Work Study programs top-up funding for students in financial need.
Bursary: financial support you don’t pay back, just like a scholarship. Except bursaries are completely based on financial need. You apply for them.
Work Study: not your average part-time job. These are specific part-time jobs on campus that offer flexibility around your studies.
Out-Of-Province Student Admission Bursary
If you're coming to Western from another province, you could get $3,000 to fund your studies. If you're from Québec, you could get a minimum of $4,000. Admission Bursary Application.
