Introduction
Master’s degree in Applied Health Sciences designed to be completed over three academic terms (12 Months). It is a fully online, asynchronous (self-paced) intensive program. The program includes opportunities to upskill and learn about management, leadership, emotional intelligence and research. After the program, graduates can pursue their PhDs or take their skills back to the clinic and workplace.Students will be exposed to research during this program. Faculty of Health Sciences Commitment to Equity Scholarship for International Graduate Students in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Advanced Health Care Practice
Western University's Faculty of Health Sciences is committed to cultivating equitable, diverse and inclusive learning environments for students from all around the world. Our faculty is aware of the barriers to education that many international students encounter. For this reason, the Faculty of Health Sciences will be offering three Graduate Scholarships worth a total of $120,000.
Three eligible students applying to the Occupational (MScOT), Physical Therapy (MPT) or Advanced Health Care Practice (AHCP) programs will receive $20,000 per year during their studies. Students must meet all admission requirements as well as the criteria of the Faculty of Health Sciences’ EDI Committee. One student will receive the award from each program.

Western University Faculty Of Health Sciences General International Graduate Students’ Admission Scholarship
The Faculty of Health Sciences values diversity across our schools. We are committed to increasing the number of international students in our programs to create a more diverse learning environment. We understand the challenges of being an international student in Canada and are willing to contribute to those who are interested in our Occupational Therapy (MScOT) and Physical Therapy (MPT) Graduate Programs.

Joy MacDermid Bursary for an International Student in Financial need applying to the Upper Extremity Rehabilitation Master’s Program.
The Faculty of Health Sciences is seeking motivated Physical Therapy and Occupational therapy graduates for an exciting opportunity to enrol in the Upper Extremity Rehabilitation field within the Advanced Health Care Practice Program, with the generous financial assistance of $5000 towards tuition from Dr Joy MacDermid for an international student in financial need.
Curriculum
Students are required to successfully complete a total of six courses in addition to the Knowledge Synthesis and Application Capstone Learning Experience to earn a Master of Health Sciences Degree in the Advanced Health Care Practice Program in the Applied Health Sciences field.

Program Outcome
The Master’s Degree in Applied Health Sciences is designed by leaders in the fields of education and healthcare with input from students and employers. Throughout the study, students will learn to:
- Appraise the scope and complexity of the body of knowledge in health sciences and healthcare
- Differentiate among various facets of health sciences and explain their interconnections
- Value the interrelationships of health knowledge applied by different professions and disciplines
- Articulate one’s belief systems about professional practice and reflect on one’s behaviours
- Develop an understanding of the concepts of critical thinking and critical analysis, and appreciate how these approaches inform the examination of health and healthcare.
- Defend the choice of research methodologies in examining, creating, and recommending healthcare alternatives.

- Synthesize complex knowledge in a rapidly evolving health-sciences evidence base
