About the Preparatory English Language Course
VIZJA University offers a comprehensive 9-month Preparatory English Language Course designed for international students who wish to begin their academic studies in Poland.
The programme provides intensive training in all four language skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing, ensuring students achieve a minimum B2 level of proficiency according to the CEFR scale, enabling them to start studies at VIZJA University.
This course is an excellent opportunity for students to strengthen their English skills, adapt to an academic environment, and prepare for university-level education in Poland.
The course is structured into thematic modules designed to systematically develop the four key language skills required for academic study: listening, reading, speaking and writing.
Module 1 – Foundations of Academic English (Weeks 1–8)
- Review and consolidation of grammar structures (A2–B1 level)
- Development of basic academic vocabulary
- Guided reading of short academic texts
- Listening comprehension exercises (lectures, dialogues)
- Introduction to structured speaking (short presentations, discussions)
- Writing simple academic texts (paragraphs, short essays)
Module 2 – Intermediate Academic Communication (Weeks 9–16)
- Expansion of academic vocabulary (discipline-related terminology)
- Reading comprehension of authentic texts (articles, case studies)
- Listening to longer academic lectures and practising note-taking practice
- Speaking practice: discussions, debates, problem-solving tasks
- Writing: essays, summaries, and structured reports
- Grammar and accuracy workshops
Module 3 – Advanced Academic Skills (Weeks 17–24)
- Critical reading and text analysis
- Advanced listening: academic debates, conference talks
- Oral communication: delivering individual and group presentations
- Writing: argumentative and research-based essays
- Vocabulary building for academic writing and formal style
- Preparation for B2-level assessment
Module 4 – Examination Preparation and University Integration (Weeks 25–36)
- Intensive practice of all four skills under exam conditions

Assessment
