We live in an overfed and, paradoxically, malnourished society. Traditional diets have been replaced by high-fat diets. Poor nutrition has become established, linked to the emergence of numerous diseases and pathologies : cardiovascular disease, various types of cancer, and other ailments associated with poor nutrition.

Definition of the program

The main objective of the Official Master's Degree in Nutrition and Health is to specialize health professionals in nutrition and nutrition as a key tool for promoting healthy habits and preventing and controlling various diseases.

Pursuing this objective, the curriculum is focused on providing a comprehensive view of nutrition and nutrition education, covering everything from the physiology of the digestive system and metabolism to nutrition in different communities and pathologies, as well as advances in nutrition.

Our teaching is also led by experts with extensive experience. Among them are Dr. Rosa María Albaladejo , Secretary of the Professional Association of Dietitians and Nutritionists of Catalonia; Dr. Cristina Santurino, a nutritionist specializing in sports; and Dr. María del Carmen López, a postdoctoral researcher at the IMDEA Food Institute.

*The requirement to complete this additional training course, depending on the degree awarded, will depend on the student's curriculum, as there are differences depending on the university offering the program. To address this, the Academic Committee of the degree will assess the academic records of students who demonstrate prior competencies in Biochemistry and/or Nutrition and Food, determining, where appropriate, exemption from taking the corresponding additional training courses.
