The holder of a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology has a deep knowledge of the cell structure and functions of organisms in all domains of life at the molecular level and the ability to use molecular biology methods to investigate cells and their components, as well as to apply them in research and practical work in life sciences associated areas.

He/she can independently identify and solve molecular biology-related problems and understand their complexity in biotechnology, biomedicine, pharmacy, environmental safety and other areas while having the ability to work in interdisciplinary areas and integrate the knowledge of different scientific fields.

A graduate will have acquired the ability: to work independently and in a team at research, education and business institutions, and to translate knowledge and concepts to both professionals and non-professionals; to identify scientific and professional issues of interest in the context of modern life sciences; and to continuously learn, improve and update their knowledge and skills.

• A graduate can work at research and medical institutions, biotechnological and pharmaceutical companies as well as at educational institutions.
• A graduate has the possibility to continue in a scientific career through doctoral (PhD) studies in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Genetics, Microbiology or Biology.
