Logistics and Transport Management studies are more relevant and important today than ever before. We rarely consider how dependent we are on logistics and the transport business. Studies show that if the supply chain were disrupted, society would become dysfunctional in less than a week: postal services would stop, fresh products would run out, ATMs would be empty, fuel shortages would occur, and most businesses would shut down, including the collapse of healthcare services.
The Logistics and Transport Management programme provides knowledge in logistics, transport management, business, finance, and economics. It also develops skills in organizing local and international freight and passenger transport, product distribution, and timely delivery. These specialists are capable of finding the cheapest, fastest, most profitable—in other words, the best—solutions. They can manage crises, respond to global market changes, and adhere to sustainable environmental principles.
The Logistics and Transport Management programme equips students with a solid foundation in logistics, transport management, business, finance, and economics. The curriculum develops the ability to:
- Organise and manage local and international freight and passenger transport
- Optimise goods distribution and supply chain efficiency
- Apply market research in planning and decision-making
- Oversee service-oriented activities that require high quality at optimal cost.
The programme places special emphasis on innovation and sustainability – green and reverse logistics solutions and sustainable mobility based on eco-friendly technologies. Working in logistics or transport companies involves constant adaptation to changes brought by technological advancement and digitalization. Management processes are automated using AI, robotics, and advanced analytics, and companies continuously invest in managing their transport operations using AI- and robotics-based tools."
