Introduction
Do you want to learn how to transport fresh fruit, market natural materials, or make herb processing sustainable? In this international business degree, you'll work on real-life cases and advise global agribusinesses. Studying with classmates from around the world, you'll become a valuable player in the international job market.
You'll help innovate the global food business sustainably while building a professional network through internships, trade fairs, and company visits. The program offers a mix of theory, practical learning, and hands-on experience.
You'll explore various agribusiness sectors, understand product chains, and learn about packaging, chilling, logistics, and export regulations. Courses in marketing, finance, product innovation, and international trade complete your education.
You'll gain experience in all company departments, research marketing strategies, and learn how to innovate and market new products, covering a range of products from fruits to natural building materials.

Scholarships and Funding
Funding your studies can be challenging, but there are financial support options. Availability depends on your nationality.European students can apply for student finance and a tuition fee loan from the Dutch government. Curriculum
Year 1: In your first year, you’ll explore the basics of international agribusiness, focusing on global trade, logistics, and supply chain management. You'll study marketing, finance, and business economics, and work on practical projects that give you a solid foundation in the field. This year is all about understanding the fundamentals and getting a taste of the industry.
Year 2: Your second year deepens your knowledge with more specialized courses in international trade, sustainable business practices, and agricultural economics. You'll work on real-world case studies and start building your professional network through company visits and guest lectures. This year helps you connect theory to practical applications.
Year 3: In the third year, you'll have the opportunity to choose a minor and go on an international exchange. You’ll gain hands-on experience through internships, applying what you've learned in a real-world setting. This year emphasizes global perspectives and practical experience, preparing you for the international job market.
Year 4: Your final year focuses on your graduation project and thesis. You’ll work closely with a company or organization, tackling real industry challenges. This year consolidates your knowledge and skills, ensuring you’re ready to enter the workforce as a well-rounded, experienced professional in international agribusiness and trade.
Program Outcome
All our 4-year Bachelor programs result in a Bachelor of Science (BSc) or a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree. All study programs at VHL are accredited by the Accreditation Organization of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO). This is the official organization responsible for evaluating the quality of higher education institutions in the Netherlands.
