Introduction

"Graduate Philosophy in English” is a 2-year MA program for both Polish and foreign students. All offered courses are taught entirely in the English language. The studies are meant to develop philosophical skills and competencies that are useful in the professional, public, and private spheres (e.g., critical thinking, creativity, rationality, and effective argumentation).

The courses are planned in a balanced way: they aim at the development of skills and an increase of the philosophy student’s knowledge. However! They are also suitable for graduates in different fields - in either case, they will provide the student with a solid philosophical background and a comprehensive understanding of current philosophical, religious, and scientific debates.

The Master's course of studies will develop the student's abilities to discuss philosophy in the English language and is therefore also recommended for those students who are planning to have an academic career in the field. This MA is designed to be your great intellectual adventure - our knowledge and experience will thoroughly guide your passion and philosophical interest towards your self-development. Graduates are not limited to only academic careers, though! The programme may also be useful for translators who want to specialize in philosophical literature.

The Philosophical skills are also useful for candidates, who want to take the position of financial, ethical or environmental analyst, human rights expert, social media coordinator, creative writer or researcher. The studies help to express oneself in spoken and written language. This particular MA degree, obtained here at UPJPII, is equivalent to a Licentiate, which gives the graduate qualifications to teach in church institutions.
