Key Summary

    About: The International Master Degree Course in Marine Biology and Ecology offers a comprehensive curriculum focused on marine organisms, ecosystems, and their interactions. This two-year program emphasizes hands-on learning and research opportunities to equip you with practical skills for future challenges in marine science.
    Career Outcomes: Graduates can pursue careers as marine biologists, ecological consultants, or researchers in various organizations and institutions. Opportunities also exist in conservation agencies, environmental advocacy groups, and educational institutions.

Introduction

The educational program will lead the Master’s Degree student to an in-depth knowledge of the specific ecological processes of the marine and coastal environment, thus being able to contribute both to their conservation and to the sustainable management of the goods and services they produce. The Master’s Degree will cover a number of topics related to the functioning of marine and coastal environments, to marine biodiversity and research, and to the characterization of new resources for the development of innovative biotechnological products and processes.

The training course aims to provide students with:

• In-depth knowledge in the field of biological and ecological disciplines, both basic and applied to the marine environment;

• Elements of applied management, useful to adequately contextualize biological resources in the reference environmental system;

• Methods of laboratory analysis and field monitoring in the different disciplines, also taking into account the main environmental directives;

• Methods for the research, characterization, and sustainable exploitation of marine diversity for biotechnological purposes.

• Professional experiences through external and/or internal training activities, such as internships and the preparation of an experimental thesis.
