Introduction
The Study Course activated at the SSLMIT (Modern Language Studies Section for Interpreters and Translators) is characterized by a strong international dimension, as evidenced by participation in the EMCI (European Masters in Conference Interpreting) consortium and in the EMT (European Master's in Translation) network ). The Degree Course boasts consolidated links with European institutions, in particular with the European Commission (DG Interpretation and DG Translation) and with the European Parliament. Furthermore, since its inception, SSLMIT has been part of CIUTI (Conférence Internationale permanent d'Instituts Universitaires de Traducteurs et Interprètes). The Course of Study is divided into two curricula (Conference Interpreting and Specialist Translation-Interpreting), characterized by the high specialization and flexibility necessary to meet the needs of professional figures active in a changing and varied market. The training acquired allows you to carry out activities not only in the field of interpretation and translation, but also in fields such as technical communication, terminology, localisation, subtitling and audio description. The suitability exam is divided into tests relating to at least two of the following languages: - for the conference interpretation curriculum: French, English, Dutch, Spanish and German; - for the specialist translation-interpretation curriculum: Arabic, Serbian and Croatian, French, English, Russian, Slovenian, Spanish and German. The two curricula guarantee in-depth preparation and provide not only theoretical-methodological but also operational skills necessary for the professional figure of the translator and/or interpreter. Although distinct, the two curricula share transversal teachings aimed at developing and consolidating: - knowledge and competence in the use of information, multimedia and hypermedia technologies; - the ability to identify and resolve terminological problems; - the ability to choose and manage appropriate research techniques and tools; - the aptitude for theoretical reflection as a necessary completion of practical competence; - awareness and respect for professional ethics and the social role of the translator and/or interpreter.
