Introduction
The master's degree course in Languages, Foreign Literatures and Cultural Tourism qualifies as a scientific expression of the specific multicultural and multilingual characteristics of the European area, with particular attention to Central European cultures for which Trieste is traditionally a place of meeting and exchange. The training course as a whole ensures the refinement of theoretical and practical skills relating first and foremost to two main languages, cultures and literatures, with particular attention to the geo-cultural context of reference. The course is divided into two curricula: Modern foreign languages and literatures and Cultural and literary tourism. Completion of the training course in the Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures curriculum allows you to acquire advanced knowledge of the literary and cultural history of European civilizations in their different dimensions. Starting from the analysis of literary products, graduates develop a high ability to read, translate and produce texts, interpreting them with critical and metalinguistic competence in the cultural contexts of reference. Completion of the training course in the Cultural and Literary Tourism curriculum allows the acquisition of different disciplinary skills, also aimed at the creation of cultural itineraries of narrative-literary, narrative-historical, narrative-artistic tourism in intentionally mixed, non-homogeneous and multidisciplinary circuits, combining scientific skills on the one hand and communication-performative skills (story-telling) on the other. These skills also include the use of IT tools and applications for PCs, tablets, smartphones, or the creation of cultural itineraries and maps. Master's graduates in Languages, Foreign Literatures and Cultural Tourism can carry out professional intermediary activities of a high linguistic and cultural level, particularly in work contexts that involve contacts, relationships and linguistic, literary and cultural exchanges between different countries. They are also able to apply the knowledge acquired to a wide range of professional types that involve the management of activities, heritage and cultural or tourist interest contents of a high specialist profile. The master's course allows you to acquire, by using the options available in your study plan, the credits necessary to access, in the manner and within the limits established by law, the training courses for teaching qualification; furthermore, due to the qualified and in-depth knowledge achieved, it prepares you for third cycle courses aimed at research (II level Masters, Research Doctorates, etc.).
